Comments: "If this is an emergency, call the Public Works after-hour emergency line at 425-257-8821. Everett's roadways, alleys, trails, and bikeways need ongoing maintenance. Streets Maintenance maintains 290 miles of roadway, 54 alleys, 750 miles of sidewalks and walkways, over 16,500 street signs, and numerous lane markers (buttons, reflectors, paint lines, and painted curbing). Streets Maintenance has three street sweepers for Everett's roadway system. These machines are scheduled for year-round operations. Our goal is to sweep bike lanes quarterly, the Central Business District three days a week, and arterials and residential streets every three to four weeks. For sight distance and public safety, we use tractor mowers to cut vegetation back from the edge of the pavement. "
